About this document
Properties of Calcium Carbonate in Bioplastics by Shafly P L PrasDake is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document discusses a study that examined the effect of adding precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) on the physical, mechanical, and thermal properties of cassava starch bioplastic composites. Cassava starch bioplastic composites were made with glycerol as a plasticizer and 0-10% PCC by weight. Tests found that the addition of 4% PCC provided optimal tensile strength. PCC also improved the thermal stability and increased the crystallinity of the bioplastic composites, but reduced their moisture absorpti
