This study evaluates the long-term cost-effectiveness of subcutaneous semaglutide versus empagliflozin in individuals with type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on metformin in Denmark. The analysis found that semaglutide plus metformin resulted in an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of DKK 745,561 (€ 100,239) per QALY gained, indicating it is not cost-effective compared to empagliflozin plus metformin. The results suggest that treatment duration significantly influences cost-effectiveness outcomes.
