What is Human rights about?

The purpose of this text is to reduce the uncertainty as to the meaning of data mining and to demonstrate how major organizations incorporate the technique to enhance their operational efficiency. In order to discuss the issue a group of experts was assembled, each contributing a chapter to the text. Chapter 1 offers a detailed description of what data mining is and what is involved in conducting mining analysis. Chapter 2 addresses how the technique can augment the decision making process. In the financial sector Chapter 3 shows how quantitative modeling techniques are used to help manage risk in lending to small businesses. Chapter 4 looks at the utilization of business intelligence and data mining in the insurance market place. Chapter 5 looks at the use of detailed data to analyze the activities of sales representatives, while Chapters 6 and 7 look at data mining in the health care sector. The remaining chapters focus on advertising and the recently deregulated utilities industry.
