About this document

Impact of A Pharmacist-Driven Methicillin by Saya Ya saya is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The study evaluates the impact of a pharmacist-driven MRSA PCR nasal swab protocol on reducing the duration of empiric vancomycin therapy in pneumonia patients in a rural healthcare setting. Results showed a significant reduction in vancomycin therapy duration from 3.1 days to 1.7 days and a decrease in hospital length of stay without adverse effects on kidney function or in-hospital mortality. The findings suggest that implementing such protocols can enhance antibiotic stewardship and patient outcomes.
