The study aimed to identify Malassezia species in scalp samples from patients with seborrheic dermatitis before and after treatment with low-dose oral isotretinoin or anti-seborrheic shampoo. The most common species identified were M. globosa and M. restricta both before and after treatments. Both treatments were found to be equally effective in controlling symptoms of seborrhea/seborrheic dermatitis.
