The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced the termination of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Venezuela, effective April 7, 2025, due to improvements in conditions in the country. The Secretary of Homeland Security determined that it is contrary to U.S. national interest to allow Venezuelan nationals to remain in the U.S. under the 2023 TPS designation. This termination does not affect the 2021 TPS designation for Venezuela, which remains in effect until September 10, 2025.
