Monroe County Special Olympics had 101 athletes, coaches, and volunteers attend the State Summer Games in May where 300 athletes participated in track and field events. 14 athletes will compete in softball nationals in New Jersey. Local athletes received awards at the opening ceremonies and two volunteers and a coach were recognized at an awards banquet. Upcoming events include an annual boat ride in July and the first annual golf outing fundraiser also in July.
