This document proposes combining domain reduction with the Clarke and Wright algorithm to solve the capacitated vehicle routing problem. Domain reduction improves the Clarke and Wright algorithm by deleting unneeded large values from the distance matrix, restricting certain links and improving the solution accuracy, especially for large problem instances.
