What is Aspheric Lens Design Guide about?
The standard aspheric formula uses terms like Z, r, c, K, and Ax to define the depth or sag of an aspheric curve. Be aware that some designers incorrectly show the radius c instead of its reciprocal. Most designers use only even-order Ax terms from A2 to A20, but odd-order terms from A1 to A19 are also available. While the conic constant K was traditionally used to define simple parabolas and hyperbolas, the Ax terms can now define any surface. Crystran provides this guide as an overview of common equations
