What is First ARP Installation at Banham Poultry about?
The first ammonia-water absorption refrigeration plant (ARP) in the UK was installed at Banham Poultry in 2001. The ARP provides 500 kW of refrigeration powered by hot water from an on-site cogeneration plant. It uses innovative evaporative absorber and condenser towers instead of traditional cooling towers, reducing costs and space needs. The ARP was the first of its kind in the UK to use this unique design to provide environmentally friendly refrigeration to Banham Poultry.
