About this document

Mud Dilution in Drilling Engineering Experiment by Muhammad S. RaniYah is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document describes an experiment to dilute drilling mud by decreasing its density from 8.8 ppg to 8.7 ppg and then to 8.6 ppg. The experiment involves creating an initial mud with 226.142 cc of water and 22.142 grams of bentonite clay, measuring its density at 8.8 ppg. Water is then added to decrease the density to 8.7 ppg. Additional water is added to further lower the density to the target of 8.6 ppg. The results are discussed and sources of error are identified.
