There were two types of Mikuni carburetors used as stock on Kawasaki KZ650 motorcycles from 1977-1983: 1) VM or round slide carburetors from 1977-1981 and 2) CV or constant velocity carburetors from 1982-1983. The VM carburetors can be identified by their lack of a large round top, while the CV carburetors have a distinctive large round top. Mikuni part numbers are also stamped on the carburetors to identify the specific model.
