Charlotte Winston has spent her life in England, caring for her dying mother; her only escape her vivid imagination. She would dream of a life of adventure, even conjuring up a handsome pirate who would whisk her away. After her mother dies, Charlotte sails to Montreal to her father, a general in the British army.
