Stephanie and Jones married in 2000 in an arranged marriage. They had a son with special needs in 2002, straining their finances. Jones began drinking heavily and physically abusing Stephanie. In 2006, during another drunken fight, Stephanie killed Jones and their son. She was convicted of murder by the high court. She has now appealed to the supreme court. The arguments in the appeal from both sides will consider whether Stephanie acted in self-defense or grave and sudden provocation during the killings.
