What is Rizal about?

Rizal lived abroad for several years, furthering his education in Europe. He studied medicine in Spain and ophthalmology in France, Germany, and Austria. While abroad, he met influential people, joined scientific societies, and enhanced his nationalist ideas. He wrote Noli Me Tangere in Germany and saw many places in Europe, gaining diverse experiences that exposed him to new ideas and helped develop his advocacy for Philippine reform.
