What is Rizal about?

Rizal took a trip from Dapitan to Manila in 1896, stopping in several cities. In Manila, he missed the ship to Spain and had to wait aboard the Spanish cruiser Castilla. While waiting, the Philippine Revolution broke out in August 1896. Rizal departed for Spain on September 3rd, but was arrested upon arrival in Barcelona due to a plot by the Governor-General to destroy him. He realized he had been deceived by the Spanish officials.
