This study investigates the risk of facial nerve injury (FNI) in patients undergoing surgical treatment for condylar neck and subcondylar fractures using different percutaneous approaches. It finds that deeply traversing surgical methods are associated with a higher risk of FNI compared to superficial approaches, with 27.5% of patients experiencing FNI. The authors recommend superficial approaches to minimize the risk of nerve injury during surgery.
