The study estimates the prevalence of tuberculosis treatment drop-out in Sapucaia do Sul, Brazil, from 2000 to 2008, finding a drop-out rate of 10.3% among 632 cases, with a decrease from 12.7% (2000-2004) to 7.0% (2005-2008). Factors such as sex, age, and presence of AIDS were associated with treatment abandonment, although the adjusted analysis did not show significant differences.
