What is Lightweight High-Voltage Power Converters about?

This thesis by Yiou He focuses on developing lightweight high-voltage power converters for electroaerodynamic (EAD) propulsion applications, addressing the challenges of weight reduction while maintaining efficiency and performance. It presents a novel high-frequency high-voltage dc-dc converter, explores techniques for optimizing high-voltage diodes, and demonstrates the first flight of an EAD-propelled aircraft using these converters. The work integrates advancements in power electronics with EAD technolo
