This study evaluates the effectiveness of 1% phytic acid (PA) combined with 0.2% chitosan nanoparticles (CSN) in removing the smear layer and enhancing wettability of root dentin compared to 17% EDTA and normal saline. Results indicate that the combination of 1% PA and 0.2% CSN significantly outperformed other treatments in both smear layer removal and wettability. The findings suggest that incorporating CSN into PA improves endodontic treatment outcomes by effectively addressing smear layer issues.
