What is Sumatran Tiger: Characteristics & Conservation about?

The Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) is a critically endangered subspecies of tiger native to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is the smallest subspecies of tiger, with males averaging 8 feet in length and 265 lbs, and females averaging 7 feet and 200 lbs. Their smaller size allows them to more easily navigate the dense Sumatran jungle. They are threatened by habitat loss and poaching.
