About this document
Understanding Linking Verbs Explained by Rashedul Alam is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Linking verbs connect the subject of a sentence with a predicate that identifies or describes the subject. The most common linking verb is forms of "to be", but other verbs like seem, smell, look can also be linking verbs. A linking verb does not express an action but rather links the subject to a descriptive word or phrase. Examples of sentences with linking verbs are "Roses are red", "The soup tasted weird", and "You are becoming a nuisance."
