What is Causes and Consequences of the Crimean War about?
The Crimean War was fought between 1853-1856 between Russia on one side and an alliance of France, Britain, and the Ottoman Empire on the other. Tensions arose over religious sites in Ottoman Palestine and influence over the declining Ottoman Empire. Major battles included the Battle of Sinop and the year-long Siege of Sevastopol. Ultimately the Allies emerged victorious, resulting in new international agreements and military tactics but few lasting consequences beyond a weakened Russia.
