What is Otolith Morphometrics for Mullet Species Identification about?

This study investigated the use of otolith morphometrics to identify eight species of mullets (Mugilidae) found in Malaysia. Measurements of fish length, otolith length, width and mass were taken. The otolith aspect ratio (length divided by width) was calculated and compared between species. Species were grouped based on similar aspect ratios.
