What is Vyasa about?

Vyasa is traditionally credited as the author and compiler of many Hindu scriptures like the Mahabharata in the Hindu religious tradition. The document discusses how the Mahabharata depicts Vyasa as validating its claim to be the "fifth Veda" through his role in the story and identifies him with both Narayana and Brahma. It analyzes the similarities between Vyasa and Brahma in their roles as creators and disseminators of the Vedas and as progenitors whose families split into warring factions.
