Jersey City provides curbside recycling services once a week. Recyclables should be separated into three groups: mixed paper, plastic/glass/aluminum, and corrugated cardboard. Plastics #1 and #2 are accepted, but plastics #3-7 contaminate the recycling stream. E-waste and large appliances can be picked up by calling 201-547-4400. Non-recyclable items include plastic lids, cutlery, batteries, soiled pizza boxes, plastic bags, and items with plastic coatings like coffee cups.
