This study investigates the effects of heating time and temperature on the layer thickness and glossiness level of black oxide coatings on AISI 1015 steel. Results indicate that a heating time of 90 minutes at 200ºC yields the best coating thickness of 20.27μm, while the highest glossiness level is achieved at 30 minutes and 100ºC with a value of 68.50 GU. The findings contribute to optimizing blackening processes for improved corrosion resistance and aesthetic quality without altering dimensions.
