What is Quercetin about?

The study evaluated the antifeedant activity of extracts from Bobgunnia madagascariensis, a plant used traditionally in Africa, against Tribolium casteneum, a pest of stored grains. Quercetin, a flavonoid compound, was isolated from the stem bark chloroform extract and showed over 50% feeding deterrence. Testing of the stem bark extracts found the methanol extract had the highest antifeedant activity against T. casteneum at a concentration of 10mg/ml, with a feeding inhibition rate above 30%.
