Oskar Schindler was a German businessman who joined the Nazi party and used Jewish slave labor in his factory in Cracow, Poland during World War 2. Although initially motivated by profit, he developed compassion for his Jewish workers as he witnessed their mistreatment. Schindler worked the system to protect the over 1,000 Jews employed by him, convincing officials to build a new factory and hiring those facing harm.
