About this document

Understanding Photogrammetry Basics by David Samuel is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Photogrammetry is the science of measuring objects from photographs. It involves taking vertical aerial photographs of a terrain from an aircraft or drone. These photographs can then be used to determine scale, distances, angles, and elevations on the ground without having to physically access the terrain. Photogrammetry is useful for surveying difficult terrains and planning projects like highways. It allows the relative positions of points to be determined similarly to surveying, but from a distance.
