What is Bridge Visibility and Collision Avoidance about?

Bridge visibility and collision avoidance were the focus of the initial campaign between December 2000 and March 2001. Surveyors inspected over 1,000 vessels and found deficiencies in 132, with most (85%) relating to navigation lights that were obscured or not functioning properly due to lack of maintenance. A small number of vessels with serious deficiencies were detained.
