What is Najm al-Din il-Ghazi about?

Najm al-Din il-Ghazi took control of Mardin in 507/508 after the death of the previous ruler. He showed justice and kindness to the inhabitants, removing unfair taxes and restoring security to the region. In 512, he was given control of Mayyafariqin by the Sultan, and worked to rebuild the city and improve conditions for its people. He ruled capably until 513, when he also took control of Aleppo after defeating the Franks in battle.
