Can I read Single-crystal-to-single-crystal E → Z isomerization of tiglic acid in a supramolecular framework on EtoBox?

Single-crystal-to-single-crystal E → Z isomerization of tiglic acid in a supramolecular framework by Shao-Liang Zheng; Marc Messerschmidt; Philip Coppens is a Chemistry article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Single-crystal-to-single-crystal E → Z isomerization of tiglic acid in a supramolecular framework about?

The single-crystal-to-single-crystal __E__ → __Z__ photoisomerization of tiglic acid (2,3-dimethylacrylic acid) occurs in the supramolecular crystals CECR–HTA·2MeOH·1.5H~2~O (1) (where HTA = tiglic acid, CECR = __C__-ethylcalix[4]resorcinarene) with the preservation of the crystal lattice, indicating the `scaffolding effect' of the molecular framework, which holds the crystal together notwithstanding the change in shape of the embedded guest molecules. A photostationary state is reached at a concentration of __ca__ 30% of the __Z__ isomers. A kinetic analysis shows the __Z__ → __E__ back-reaction to proceed with a larger rate constant than the __E__ → __Z__ isomerization.

Who reads Single-crystal-to-single-crystal E → Z isomerization of tiglic acid in a supramolecular framework?

It is typically read by researchers, students, and practitioners in Chemistry.
