What is Antigen Presenting Cells Overview about?
Antigen-presenting cells process and present antigens to T cells. Professional antigen-presenting cells include dendritic cells, macrophages, and B lymphocytes. Antigens are processed via two pathways: the cytosolic pathway for endogenous antigens presented by MHC class I molecules, and the endocytic pathway for exogenous antigens presented by MHC class II molecules. In the cytosolic pathway, intracellular proteins are degraded by proteasomes and transported to the ER by TAP proteins to bind to MHC class I.
