Freibergite is a silver, copper, iron, zinc sulfosalt mineral that forms in cubic crystals or masses. It is commonly found as inclusions in other sulfides in hydrothermal deposits. Freibergite is opaque, gray to black in color, and has a hardness between 263-340 on the Vickers hardness scale. It forms a series with tetrahedrite and argentotennantite.
