What is Guaraní Legends: Irupé and Anahí about?

This document tells the legend of Irupé, a young Guarani girl who longed to resemble the moon. Every night she observed the celestial body from her tribe and tried in vain to reach it by climbing trees, ascending mountains, and walking towards the horizon. One night, upon seeing the moon reflected in a lake, she believed she could touch it and threw herself into the water, disappearing forever. The supreme god Tupá transformed her into a flower with lunar leaves and petals.
