This study investigates the deventilation syndrome in COPD patients treated with non-invasive ventilation (NIV), characterized by increased dyspnea after mask removal. Out of 31 patients, 11 (35%) exhibited this syndrome, showing significant dyspnea and reduced vital capacity immediately after mask removal. The use of pursed lip breathing ventilation (PLBV) during subsequent treatment improved morning dyspnea and vital capacity, suggesting it may be a beneficial strategy for managing this syndrome.
