What is Maryland 2-1-1 Mental Health Program Bill about?

This bill requires the Maryland Department of Health to make recommendations to 2-1-1 Maryland regarding establishing an opt-in mental health phone call program. The program would periodically call people who opted in and connect them to mental health providers upon request. The governor may include funding for MDH to implement the recommendations. MDH already reports annually on its 2-1-1 activities and this would be included. The bill takes effect in July 2021.
