Santiago Alvarez was a Filipino historian and nationalist who wrote memoirs about his involvement in the Philippine Revolution as a general and his accounts of key events like the Tejeros Convention. He described the misunderstandings between revolutionary leaders Andres Bonifacio and Daniel Tirona that arose and the election of government officers at Tejeros. The second source was also written by Santiago Alvarez and provided more detailed historical accounts of the revolutionary period in the Philippines
