The study evaluated the influence of material (glass, PET, HDPE) and bottle size/finish diameter on the moisture and oxygen barrier properties of bottles for pharmaceutical products. Glass provided the best moisture barrier while PET and HDPE permeability depended on bottle size/surface area. Glass also had the highest oxygen barrier, followed by PET and HDPE for the same bottle size.
