About this document

Insect Control for Dried Food Storage by macdoro is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The most effective way to store wheat long-term is to start with clean, pest-free wheat stored in clean containers. Freezing wheat in plastic bags for 2-3 days, allowing eggs to hatch, and repeating the process can control insects. Oxygen absorbers or vacuum sealing wheat in small bags is also effective but only practical for smaller quantities. While dry ice may improve storage life, it is not the most effective fumigant and annual treatments are unnecessary unless an infestation is detected. Diatomaceous
