About this document

Continental Drift Hypothesis Overview by Sarrah Bassiag is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The continental drift hypothesis proposed that the continents were once joined together in a supercontinent called Pangaea and have since drifted apart. Alfred Wegener first proposed this in 1915 but lacked evidence for the mechanism of drift. Later evidence from seafloor spreading and paleomagnetism supported continental drift and led to the development of the theory of plate tectonics.
