What is Validation of HFA-PEFF for HFpEF Diagnosis about?
The study validates the three-step HFA-PEFF algorithm for diagnosing heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) against invasive haemodynamic measurements from right heart catheterization (RHC). Results showed that while the HFA-PEFF score is associated with HFpEF diagnosis, it lacks sensitivity, misclassifying a significant number of patients as non-cardiac dyspnoea. The findings suggest that additional functional tests may be necessary to improve diagnostic accuracy for HFpEF.
