The World Federation of Exchanges published a report on market highlights for the first half of 2019. Global market capitalization increased 1.6% compared to the first half of 2018, rebounding from a decline at the end of 2018. Exchange traded derivatives volumes such as options and futures rose, with stock index options up 40.4% and futures up 20.6%. However, new listings fell 35.2% and investment flows through initial public offerings declined 19.3% compared to the first half of 2018.
