This research investigates the energy losses and discharge coefficients of two types of trapezoidal Piano Key Weirs (PKWs), type-B and type-C, under various flow rates. Results indicate that type-B PKWs exhibit approximately 10.9% lower energy loss and a 5.6% higher discharge coefficient compared to type-C PKWs. An empirical equation for calculating energy loss with a correlation coefficient of 97.42% was also developed.
