About this document
Formation of Corrie, Arête, and Peak by JDMcDougall is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Corries, arêtes, and pyramidal peaks are landforms created by glacial erosion processes. Corries form when rotational glacial flow scoops and deepens hollows in the landscape. Arêtes are formed when two corries erode back to back. Pyramidal peaks result when frost shattering and abrasion steepen the back walls of corries. Drawing labeled diagrams is an effective way to explain how these distinctive upland glacial features are created.
