What is Cost and Impact of Smoking about?

This three-part activity guides students in calculating the costs of smoking cigarettes. Students are provided a table to calculate the money spent smoking different amounts of cigarettes over different time periods. They are also prompted to consider what else that money could be spent on instead of cigarettes. Finally, students calculate the annual costs for smoking one, two, or three cigarettes per day based on a price of 5 pesos per cigarette stick in the Philippines.
