This study investigates the use of a mechanically-anchored unbonded fiber reinforced polymer (MA-UFRP) system to enhance the flexural strength of reinforced concrete slabs. Six slabs were tested, revealing that the MA-UFRP system improved slab strength by up to 43% compared to control slabs, though it was slightly less effective than the externally-bonded FRP system with end-anchorage.
