The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation acquired land along Cat and Thomas Mountain and East River Road to enhance protection of the Lake George watershed. The acquisition was made in partnership with the Lake George Land Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy. The land acquisition adds to the 46.2% of the Lake George watershed that is already protected through state forest preserve and conservation easements.
