What is Introduction to Abstract Algebra Concepts about?

This document is the introduction to a course on abstract algebra taught by Alexander Paulin. It begins by defining algebra as the abstract study of sets with additional structures like operations. It notes how the sets of integers and rational numbers can be viewed as algebraic structures when equipped with operations of addition and multiplication. The document then provides an overview of the course, which will introduce algebraic structures like groups, rings, and fields as generalizations of structures
